Clay and the Creative Process

Welcome to the online home of hand made ceramics and graphic art by Jan Helm. Clay is a uniquely plastic medium. Everyday vessels can be transformed through creativity. My work is inspired by nature, spiritual, and cultural influences. The artwork evolves and emerges as I engage in each stage of production: making, trimming , decorating, firing and glazing. I believe art has a life of its own, and I allow it to flow through me. The viewer has a personal experience and derives their own meaning from interacting with the piece. Please feel free to contact me by emailwith comments, questions or if interested in purchasing.
